UNIT 1: LIVING THINGS AND NON-LIVING THINGS

UNIT 1: LIVING THINGS AND NON-LIVING THINGS

Our world is made up of Living Things and Non-Living Things.

What is the difference between Living Things and Non-Living Things?

Living Things can: Breath, need food and water, move or grow.

Non-Living Things cannot breath, cannot move or grow, do not need food o water.

  • ·         What is it?
  • ·         Does it breath air?
  • ·         Does it grow?
  • ·         Does it need water or food?
  • ·         Does it move?

Many of these Living Things are very small. They can be so small that we need a microscope to observe them, while others are much larger than we are.
However, they all share certain characteristics: what characteristics do living things share?
·         They all interact with their environment.
·         They grow.
·         They reproduce.
·         And they eventually die.

All living things are made up of cells which form the building blocks of life.

How do we classify living things?
